About the artist
Seong-Ho Jeon
Seongho Jeon is an acclaimed Korean sculptor with a masterful command of material, holding a BFA and MFA from Dongguk University (South Korea) and an MA from New York University. Over a career spanning more than three decades, he has presented his work in solo and group exhibitions across major galleries and museums in Seoul, New York, and Hong Kong, earning prestigious honors from major Korean art competitions.
He has recently based himself in Philadelphia, one of the most historic cities in the United States, to expand his sculptural projects. Deeply moved by the city's people, their culture, and the strong sense of identity they carry, he resolved to honor them through his work, giving lasting form to their stories in sculpture.

The People of
Philadelphia
The 'People of Philadelphia' is a limited commission project dedicated to documenting the city's living residents through sculptural design. This project is exclusively commission-based and each commissioned sculpture contributes to a collective narrative of Philadelphia. To secure a piece from Seongho Jeon, the commissioning party must agree to the following:

The commissioning party owns their artwork. However, all commissioned works are to be included in a future "People of Philadelphia" exhibition, with the date and location to be announced.
Project Phase 1 Details
Application Deadline: August 31, 2026
Project Timeline: September – October 2026
Capacity: Highly limited. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with only a small number selected per phase.
Commission Fee: $1,500 (Promotional price; expected to rise in subsequent phases).
Materials & Personalization:

Composition: mixed materials including metal, resin, wood, and composite elements.

Color: While the artist aims to reflect the agreed design, final coloration cannot be guaranteed due to material reactions.

Personalization: Requests to embed personal valuables or objects depend on technical feasibility and will be discussed during the initial meeting.
Note: Payment is collected only after your in-person project scope meeting. Due to limited capacity, some applicants may be waitlisted for Phase 2 (expected October – December).

This project focuses mainly on facial casting. Requests for casts of other body parts are subject to discussion and may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Due to the nature of the casting process, individuals with excessive hair, such as a full beard, are unable to participate. A small amount of stubble or light facial hair is acceptable.

The casting process may involve the use of Vaseline, plaster, and alginate. Individuals with known allergies or sensitivities to any of these materials should not participate.

The casting requires the face to be fully covered for approximately 30 minutes. For this reason, the process is not recommended for anyone who experiences claustrophobia.

Start by submitting your application. Once it's approved, we'll reach out to schedule your project scope meeting. After the meeting, once your project plan is finalized, payment is due before the facial casting begins.

Meet with the artist to refine your vision. This step includes a personal meeting to finalize the design and take necessary measurements along with casting.
Your custom sculpture will be meticulously crafted over 4 to 5 weeks. Expect regular updates on the progress to keep you informed.
Once your sculpture is finished, we will arrange for delivery or pickup. Experience the joy of seeing your vision come to life.
